The moon looks larger when it's on the horizon than when it's higher up in the sky.

There's actually a simple explanation for this. See, the atmosphere is actually more of an elipse than a sphere (more of a football than a basketball), so when it's on the horizon, it's being magnified because the image is being stretched, like when things look distorted when looking through a wine glass.

This is true for the sun as well as the moon.

The moon is not growing! It just changes "phases" as it circles around the Earth. Therefore, you'll see more of the moon as the month goes on, and then after a full moon, it'll start "shrinking" (i.e. change back to smaller phases) because of the moon's position around the Earth.

The moon doesn't grow or shrink. The moon spins on it's axis so slow that only one side ever faces the sun. There really is a dark side of the moon. It's the lighted side we see.

It does't grow. You simply see a different amount of the moon each night due to the positions of sun-earth-moon.

well if one consumes to much fatty food and does not get enough exercise and activity level is very low the moon will be both full and growing. Asstronomy 101

The Moon is not changing size.

The full moon was two days ago, now the moon is 'waning' or getting darker.

Do you mean, "Is the moon waxing?" (as opposed to waning).
The last full moon was on Feb 2, so now it is waning.
