Why does the saying "Blondes have more fun", and then another saying "She's a dumb blonde." One is a compliment and the other an insult. What's up with the blonde thing.

"Blondes have more fun" is a Clairol jingles from the mid fifties early 60's.
Dumb blonde came about because of the way blondes were portrayed on television and the parts they usually played. Soon came the dumb blonde jokes etc etc. There you go the history of the dumb blonde, have a good day.

I think the dumb blonde thing came from brunettes who bleach their hair and think they're cute now and start acting ditzy thinking it's cute too look dumb because of the stereotype. The real blondes out there are actually very smart. Fake blondes don't know how to handle the new hair color and think they have to act a certain way. As for the blondes have more fun, not true i'm blonde i'm fun that's just my personality brunettes are fun too!!!
We just need the types that bleach their hair get implants wear tight bra less shirts and giggle none stop an ettiquette book.
P.s not all bleach blondes act like this so i don;t want to come off generalizing it's just what i've noticed!
