I don't think that Harley's are over rated..The new Harley's are as good as another cruiser out there on the road. That being said They are seriously over priced..... Primarily because every Doctor, Lawyer, Dentist... etc, ....runs to the Harley dealership when they hit middle age and literally throws money at them. (They remind me of teenage girls buying the most expensive jeans...BECAUSE they're the most expensive jeans) Most of these get very little road time ......(Thats why is called Harley OWNERS Group and not Harley RIDERS Group)

What I have discovered in this forum is that the only ones to talk sh!!t about Harleys are the riders who are too poor or too scared to have ever ridden a Harley. Never have I read a negative answer from a current or former Harley rider saying "Oh yeah Harleys suck". Many Harley riders started out on metrics and ***Advanced to a Harley*** . How often do you hear of someone ditching their Hog to get a rice cooker?

so far, 4 people have no clue to what their talking about...and this includes u. i own a 1200 sportster, and i can tell u first hand that: they DONT leak oil, they DONT suddenly break down, they ARE just as reliable as any metric, and they can have performance...if u have the cash. i dont run straight pipes on my bike, and i get very good gas mileage...mid 50's out of a 3.3 gallon tank.
i can also say firsthand after having this bike for 2 years of hard riding in the twisties, this bike does NOT spew oil, and it doesnt smell like mcdonald's from the back either. the only time it would ever push oil thru the air cleaner is if u OVERFILL the phuckin thing.
u come off like a wanna-be, rice grindin, no respectin poser. u wouldnt have the balls to say that to a harley owner's face be sure. ur just jealous cause u cant afford 1.

What a lame troll.
I've ridden some Harleys, never owned one. At this point in my life they don't have a bike that fits what I like to do. Although the Buell Ulysses comes close.
But someday I'll own a Harley. Partly because the bottom of the market will eventually fall out and I'll be able to pick up a used one with low miles for cheap.
And partly because it will piss off clowns like you.

Are you done ranting? Harleys are not over rated and you sound jealous that you don't own one. Mine does not smell, is not excessively loud (no straight pipes), has never broken down on the side of the road and does not leak oil. Why do people use these reasons to downplay Harleys just because they really want one but don't have the balls to ride one? The free market determines how valuable something is and it is apparent Harleys are in demand and valuable, not over rated.

Harleys are just like any other motorcycle. Each brand has pros and cons, each brand has lemons and gems. Personally I think Harleys are overpriced, but others relish the cost and the "aura" associated with that cost. Your question sounds more like a rant against Harleys Its just like the age old Ford vs Chevy debate.... some folks swear at Ford, others swear by Ford. Good luck.

I don't ride a Harley, a Yamaha Roadstar is what I have, but they aren't the oil spewing bikes they used to be. They are made very well, just not worth the money in my opinion.

Yup, they sure are. 50 year old technology that looks exactly the same as it did 50 years ago. They just keep re-arranging the parts around and calling it a FXL-MNOPQRST-whatever. A 1500cc V-Twin engine pushing 57 horsepower? Please! Nowadays a Japanese inline four 600cc engine on the average sport bike produces in excess of 116HP. (Yes, Virginia-contrary to popular belief, NOISE doesn't equal POWER. The throttle on my Kaw makes it go FASTER. The throttle on a Harley is more akin to a volume control. It just makes it LOUDER. And ya don't even have to slow down for the curves like ya do on the Harley. (Oop! Watch that primary case!).
Harley doesn't really sell motorcycles. They sell a 'badass' image to mediocre yuppies with too much disposable income. They've just managed to convice said yuppies that they need to buy a $25000.00 air compressor to be able to get laid.
Heh. Bad news, Harley dudes....If I could whip ya before ya bought the black T-shirt with the eagle on it-I still can now that yer wearin' it. And if ya really NEED a 25-35 thousand dollar "prop" to get ya some action-well...Ya must not've been much before ya bought the bike.
In the old days, bikers had iron butts- Jeez...ya don't even have to RIDE your Harley to be a biker anymore (And ~gulp~ put all those un-necessary MILES on it-lowering it's resale value!)..... Just pay someone trailer it to Sturgis and unload it on main street and pose next to it.
We've all seen that bumper sticker: If God rode a motorcycle, it would be a Harley....... Now I know why God
hasn't made His second coming..... He's still stuck in a cornfield out in Nebraska or somewhere waiting for parts!

u obviously havent ridden a harley lately. i have yet to see a hd post-amf days on the side of the road. they're built alot better now than they've ever been, and they give just as smooth of ride as any jap junk pos. not every1 runs straight pipes on them either...just candy azz'd wanna-be posers. and they dont spit oil either. u sooooooooo dont have a clue. go rent a few hd's for a day, run em hard, then come back and say they spew oil. at least hd gives a 2 year warrenty......no rice grinder gives that...just a panzy 12 months. go back to ur vespa and check the tightness of ur training wheels.

anyone who thinks that a brand name of anything makes or breaks you as a person is a weak minded simpleton who mistakenly thinks he or she can somehow gain respect through material goods I ride a 73 honda and will ride the next bike I can afford and am as respected in my sector of the motorsickle comunity as anyone I have friends who ride harleys who would gladly kick the s**t out of any who would disrepect me for my ride. I would never allow this to happen though because frankly folks in that frame of mind really arent worth the time it would take enjoy your ride and remember a bro is a bro if he's up on two there must be something you can learn from him or her .
