Definitely keep moisturizing. You should use something with a beeswax in it. Mary Kay makes a great night cream. Also, do not wash your face with soap, anything containing perfume, or use very hot water on your face. Steam is good for the skin, but contact with the hot water is horrible. A good idea is to wash your face, moisturize it and dab your face with a lukewarm wash rag. You probably should not be using makeup if you have an irritating dry skin condition, but if your skin chemistry just lacks oil, use "bare minerals" on your face. It's incredible. It's a powder that gives you full coverage, but doesn't feel like you're wearing anything.

Mary Kay has awesome products for dry skin. What you're cleaning your face with is the first step. Even cleansers can add OR take away moisture from the skin. After cleansing you should use sunscreen (Day solution SPF 25) and a great moisturizer. MK also has hydrating creams, it's like a drink of water for your skin. Then Mary Kay also has a foundation that is specifically for dry skin. You can visit my website at www.marykay.com/juliepetrie for more information or to ask questions. I really hope this helps.

You're either wearing the wrong moisturiser or you have a skin condition, possibly eczema. Check to see the moisturiser doesn't contain too many chemicals, a natural one is best. But by natural I don't mean tea tree/witch hazel as this dries your skin a lot too. Also, are you using a deep cleanser rather than a water based one that's a very thin liquid, these astringents dry your skin terribly too.
See your local dermatologist, if they say you have some skin condition, go to your doctor and they'll help you.
For now, this website will help:

I had the same problem when I first moved to the US. Maybe the winter weather is just not cooperating. Try using heavy cream-based moisturizer at night, or even dab on some vaseline on your skin at night. That should improve your skin. Then use foundations for dry skin.
Good luck!

right it truly is truly one of two issues which will be causing that. a million. you may pick to prepare your starting up in the previous you concealer. each and every from time to time once you prepare concealer first, and then cover it with starting up, that is going to reason your face to develop into cakey, because you're going lower back over the blemishes with extra concealer and it only clogs your pores! also, you may want to attempt to moisturize your face in the previous you prepare some thing! This only helps to ascertain that your face stay hydrated via the day. no matter if you imagine that you've oily dermis, the starting up you're utilising might want to dry your dermis out and promises it that texture. 2. you're utilising too a lot product! attempt to make extra flow farther the subsequent time you prepare your starting up! that could want to continually be the most to the cakey seem you're turning out to be. If neither of those artwork than i'd recommend you detect a unique starting up that works for you. I comprehend your concerns about the starting up going to waste, yet you may continually provide it to a chum or a pal! no longer each and every starting up works for each human being. all of us have different needs, that is only ideal to easily remember to have extremely oily dermis and under no circumstances mixture dermis by way of the undeniable fact that would also be the basis of your issues!

I have the same problem, other than using a good moisturizer, try either Max Factor (Whipped) or Clinique foundation. They both worked for me, but the Max Factor is cheaper only about $8, whereas Clinique is like $12. Good luck.

Avon makes a really amazing "Instense moisture" moisturizer. Use that and use a liquid foundation with no powder. L'Oreal True Match is great because it has moisturizers in it and doesn't cause skin to breakout and it blends really well.
