Very simple: DA is a prime example of blue collar Chicago talk for "The"...The word "Bears" means one mean Beast! It all comes down to a Chicago Beast that is going to tear up anything that comes in its way!

that is a nickname. that is unlike their professional identify. i trust the "DA" got here from the saturday evening stay superfan skit in which 2 die not person-friendly bears followers had undesirable accents and somewhat of announcing "The" they pronounced "DA". the idea stuck on quick. The football men on espn say Da bears now as well as many others. only variety of a pop subculture ingredient. Their nicely proper call is "The Chicago Bears"

Living in Chicago my whole life, it's funny to hear people use the phrase. If you've ever spent time in the city, you'd know it's just a Chicago accent!
