...for one, i disapprove of the PSO and wish there was some other way to end a drawn game
...but i can't come up with an idea...

How about you what do you dislike and is there a way to make it better?

the offsides rule has its ads/disads. It makes the game more coordinated and increases the communication between players on the pitch.
However, it definetly reduces the number of goals scored(abolishing the offsides rule would make footie more marketable in the US I think)
However Im with youon the PSO on draws.. But there just doesnt seem to be any viable alternatives. It kinda sucks. Maybe abolishing the offsides rule would increase the number of goals which reduces the incidence of draws which would reduce the number of PSOs.

Well, not really a rule, but I would like to see them use technology to improve the standard of the game
Have a 4th/5th official watch the tele, he get's better views plus replays, he's then in direct communication to the ref on the pitch.
What will happen then is if a player goes down in the box, not even more than 20 seconds later, the 4th/5th official would've been able to see a replay and give his verdict. 20 seconds wait for a game altering decision is nothing
Also, what this will allow is for sending off's or yellow cards for things the ref doesn't see. A lot of the time there's things that happen that the ref doesn't see, video evidence picks it up, and the person is then banned retrospectively once it's reviewed, but it means he still finished the game and his team had an unfair advantage. Let's say player A kicks player B 20mins into the game, but ref doesn't see this. The 4th official picks this up after a few replays, talks to the ref, the ref then sends the guy off. Just makes more sense

I'm a bit like you. I don't like PSO's for a final, but I'm not wrapped in some of the alternatives that are offered either and don't have one myself..lol and if any of us could come up with a viable option, we sadly are not FIFA members and would have no chance of getting it past King Blatter anyway.

Although the offside rule can be contentious I'm actually not too fussed by it. The players understand it and it has negatives and positives.

The umpires: Their main problem is inconsistancy. Its not so much the rules that are a joke, its the way that one umpire will penalise a problem, while another umpire wont penalise that problem. For example - on the weekend a Brisbane player knocked the ball out of bounds with his hands, now 9/10 times the umpire would let that go. But the umpire called it deliberate. Consistancy? Where? The whole "The ball hitting the post then going through the middle = six points" is more than a joke. Its more than a joke they are considering it. Its as if they are trying to fix the rules for players inabilities to kick, if they change that rule the kicking will just get worse. Its embarassing. It doesnt need to be changed, it simply needs to be fixed. Theres a unique difference.

offside of course. it causes many discussions and everyone's point of view is soo different. some see the attacker in front of the rival's defender, some see him behind and it goes o forever.
besides refrees cant make right decisions during the game. they may have been wrong because of a little wrong sight-view and that may cost an unlucky team 3 points!
and finally, i wanna see more goals in a game :D

I think there should be an extension with yellow cards. Why not make three yellow cards equal a red card. But if the player still doesn't wanna understand, pull out an orange card and ban him from playing for a year!

The offside law. Put it back to how it used to be. At least everybody understood it then, including, the referee and linesmen!
