I'm planning a vacation to Greece this summer with two friends. We're all girls between 20 and 24. We're flying into and out of Athens, and have time for 3 nights on one island. We'd prefer to fly to the island in the interest of saving time. We can't decide the best island to visit. Santorini? Corfu? Crete? Mykonos? Paros? Some place that's fun, good food, good beaches, maybe some nice shopping, young people, where we can choose to be smart with our money or not. What do you think? Help us!

Mykonos and Santorini are I think the best choices for your age, and holiday style. Mykonos can be quite expensive, and too much clubbing-like atmosphere, but you can avoid it if you don't stay out too late etc. Santorini in the town Fira has a bit too much tourism, which spoils its traditional setting, but the town Oia is beautiful. I personally love Naxos, it has the best beaches. As for flying, you don't need to for Naxos and Mykonos, there are fast ferries. For Santorini I would take the plane though.

Santorini is very romantic place for 3 girls ,Mykonos very crowded and expensive at summer time,Corfu and Crete far from Athens..I suggest Paros for night life, shopping and location just 3 hours from Athens (high speed boat),the island has nice beaches you have to go around and not in Paroikia where the most tourist live.you can rent motorbikes( i do not reccomend car) sure you will have fun...

Assuming you're looking for a "college" vacation, I'd go with Mykonos... plenty of nightlife (sometimes too much), nice beaches, etc. Santorini is fun... and absolutely gorgeous, but it can get extremely windy there (84 km/hr wind when I was there), which can make for a rough few days. Crete is also amazing... I'd look into the city of Chania, near the northwest corner of the island.

A lot of it depends on the depth of your wallet. Myconos is nice and libertarian but expensive. Santorini is spectacular and you can find some reasonable accomodations there. Keep in mind that there are over 3000 islands in Greece and any answer you get is highly subjective. I personally dislike touristy islands although the supply of "ladies" is more abundant there. If you are looking for "amor" and romantic adventures all the above are replete with very romantically inclined (read: horny) people of all three sexes.
