Well I know it's been going on for a while know.I was a kid hunting Easter eggs am in my 30's know so proudly a long time.

Easter was celebrated long before Christ came (2000 years before) in worshiping the god tammuz and fertility. so the egg is a symbol of that fertility and was used to decorate and find for glory of spring and fertility and other gods
