Maybe. They are not the same company though they do have a business relationship. Here's a little background information. Target tried for a couple of years to develop their own website platform and after spending millions of dollars they finally gave up. The original version of Target's website had a lot of technical problems, to say the least. So in 2002 Target struck a deal with Amazon.com where they basically lease the use of Amazon's web platform. In other words, Amazon handles the technical operation of target.com. Many of the products available through Amazon - books, music, DVDs, games - are also available through Target's site. Normally the price for brand new merchandise in those categories will probably be the same regardless of whether you order through Amazon or Target. However, on occasion one of the companies may have a sale where they offer the item at a lower price. Also, Amazon sells used merchandise in addition to new merchandise while Target only sells new merchandise. The shipping and handling rates are not exactly the same, so depending upon the type of product you purchase and the quantity/weight you may end up spending more or less for shipping with one store versus the other. The two stores operate completely separately with their own separate policies and return/exchange procedures. So you can't order something from Amazon and then try to return it at Target.
