I am a reading specialist/clinician specializ(s)ing in the assessment and therapeutic intervention of learning disabled students. I am seeking a community of specialists (including psychologists/speech language pathologists/reading specialists) who work as a multi-disciplinary team and who are focussed on providing the means to achieve results. The practice may be part of either a private or a government agency. What is the best way to contact these agencies or to find out about their existence?

I can tell you about one such Agency. The Child Guidance Clinic in Winnipeg (Manitoba - in Canada) provides services to children in the school system. They employ reading specialists, along with psychologists, social workers, and speech/language therapists. From my experience, they are somewhat unusual in having reading specialists that are not attached to a school as a resource teacher. Here is a link to their site. They might know of similar agencies.

Check with Rehabilitative Services ...they specialize in disabilities, have a great grant data base and it's a Federal Program....you should find like minded people there...good luck.
