As silly as it sounds, I think that there will be quite a few people who are small minded enough to see his name as one of the reasons not to vote for him, sadly Americans in some areas are still living with a decades old backward mentality.
I admire this guy for what he is trying to achieve, but in reality I don't think he is right for Presidential office, which has absolutely nothing at all to do with his race or his name, moreover I think it would be a good thing for America to have a non white president to stop this idea of one race thinking it has the only right to be classed as a true American based on their skin color.

Obama is a good and very level-headed and intelligent man and is not wrapped with corruption scandals. However, it usually does take a cunning and manipulative candidate, with powerful and manipulative special interests' money to win the White House in this modern age... especially now that America is gradually slipping into fascism.
However, I'd put my vote on Obama, given the choice between him and McCain. God forbid if McCain, America's warmonger, becomes the Repug's ultimate choice! Remember that as recent as January 17, McCain was blowing his horn in support of Bush's 'strategic' Iraq plan? And he's still at it, knowing full well that our Troop members are dying by the day and even that our Armor trucks and helicopters are being blown to bits. Why is he so darn eager to put more troops in harm's way.
Also, it looks like Bush and his warmongers are trying to provoke Iran into starting a war so that they can seize/jump at the opportunity to have a reason to let America go to war with Iran. Currently, they have no true evidence of the Iranian government 's participatiion in the Iraq War so far, and is resorting to all kinds of hype, tactics, and manipulative means to get US involved in another War. Shame on them! As if they are not shameful and immoral enough to have led us into the Iraq War with falsified intelligence! What are they trying to do? Kill all our young service men and women so that all these oldies can control and decide for America under their fascist New World Order and movement?

I think, hope, and pray (quite the stretch for an atheist), that Americans are 'way, 'way too smart to actually think that a man's middle name is more important than his character, or that his name determines his character in any way.
Just think, if that were true, you could really change your name to Isaac Newton, just like your avatar, and instantly become a genius physicist.
Men named John would all be comedians and faux news anchors, women named Angelina would all be movie stars, dogs named Laika would all be astronauts...

i'm sorry, is Hillary continuously making constructive the country knows her middle call? Or how about you? Do you bypass round conserving your middle call each and every time someone asks for it? His middle call's effortless knowledge, and the folk who care about it do, and the folk who do not do not. i do not see why it truly is going to count number, he's practically as good a christinian as you'll hit upon, and inspite of if he wasn't that shouldn't count number. no longer each and every Muslim change into curious about 9/11, no longer one and all needs to do us damage. compared to their finished inhabitants, those terrorist sectors make up no longer even a unmarried p.c.. So do not bypass judging an finished faith with assistance from waht some human beings do. in the different case, each and every Christian ought to have a great number of genocides to respond to for.

What's in a name? It's what is inside that counts. You might try reading his book with an open mind rather than what you have heard on Fox News. Make up your own mind by looking into the available information on the man and you might not be so willing to condemn him because of a name.

I think some Americans will not vote for Obama for the reason you state, but not as many as those who will not vote for him unless they learn what his policies actually are. Does anyone know what he stands for? I consider myself reasonably well-informed and I have no idea where he stands on any issue.

He is not a practicing muslim but a Christian. He did not name himself. Focus on how this man can correct the blunders of this current administration and bring our troops home. What's in a name.

We need someone who is going to put Americans first before personal gain. Someone who will do what is best for the nation.
If Obama is that person, he has my vote.

I don't know if he will win or not but do you really think that because his middle name is Hussein that he's automatically unqualified?
