Nothing, he needs to toughen up a little bit since static electricity is just part of the dryness that winter brings. It won't kill him and he just needs to stop worrying about.

Use a humidifier in the house. That should eliminate the dry air and stop or reduce the static shocks. Also look into changing the type of shoes he's wearing to some other shoes made with different materials.

Static electricity is really bad in the winter due to all the dry heat.

He needs to be grounded - stick a piece of copper wire up his a-s-s and let it drag on the ground, that should do it!!
