Yes, and you can train them to do anything that you can train a cat to do

I have had one ferret that responded to his name. It takes a lot of time to teach them their names. Get ferrets for dummies. It's a great book to have in general. It has soem good tips. The thing about ferrets is they get very destracted so even when they do know their name they wont nessesary respond :P

I have 2 ferrets and they I think they know their names but unlike cats or dogs, they don't come running unless they think it's worth their time, e.g. if there's a treat in it then they'll come running! They don't just come so you can cuddle with them, that's a complete waste of their time........they could spend that better by wrecking your home or finding some mischief to get into or even better than that...........playing with you!!! I love the little rascals xx

My ferrets kinda of know there names. When I call their names they freeze, and then go back to what their doing.Like when I say "Pinky!"To my albino ferret she will turn her head and look at me for ten seconds. Then when I call my other ferret Bandit she just lays down like a sock because she thinks she's in trouble.(she does that when the dog barks at her, and I usually call their names because they are doing something wrong.)You could try to teach them their names but it would be kinda of hard.I didn't teach my ferrets their names they just learned them in a different way.

#1 How long have you had the ferret?
#2 Do you know how mischievious they are?
#3 They will usually respond to a treat held in your hand.
#4 If you only have one she/he should come when you call them.
#5 DONT let them have free run in your house, they will hide and destroy anything they can get their little teeth into!!!!
#6 Have clean bedding available at all times.......they have a tendency to be very oderous!!! unless they are 'desmelled' similarly as you would a skunk.........yep, i had two of those for a while, they make interesting pets, but i dont advise them for just anyone.......

only if you train them too, then yes it is possible, we never did that with our ferrets, the only thing i taught my girl ferret was to climb up my leg!

Yes, all of mine will come when they're called. It takes alot of practice and some treats, but it is possible. Also when teaching use a slight squeek noise to earn it's attention and then say thier name.
