Does the '06 Mercedes Benz R350 look awfully like the Chrysler Pacifica Touring of the same model year? I had to drive my uncle's R350 up to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, and the next day, I drove up to K-Mart with my sister in her Chrysler Pacifica. If you ask me, the Mercedes is just a Pacifica with a slightly reformatted rear side window and front end. Does anyone else notice this?

I thought the same thing when the R-Class was introduced... So, I trotted on down to the local Benz dealer and asked. The answer was an unequivocal no. The R-Class is built on a much, much larger chassis and is in no way the Pacifica... yet. Some gossip says the next Pacifica may be built on the R- platform.

most cars are this way.....Chrysler is owned by Benz so its common to share the same structure for cars.

Mazda is owned by Ford which also owns Volvo. The new Mazda3 is nothing more than the Volvo S40.

All the new Saturn cars are nothing more than rebadged Opels imported from the UK. Even the new Chevy Impala is an imported Opel.

The Ford Ranger pick up is actually the Mazda pick up but rebadged for Ford.

The Chevy Cavalier is also the Pontiac Sunfire.

There might seem like alot of cars are out there....but in reality, there are only a few but many twins. All they do is change bumper skins, moldings, interior parts, etc to make the cars look different to the masses.

The R is huge, when compared to a Pacifica. There is absolutely nothing about them frame wise or interior wise that is similar at all. The body lines make them look more similar than they actually are. Look at the Crossfire instead. Side by Side the Pacifica is designed as a big Crossfire.
