Thankyou Sometimes i feel i'm walking on pins and needles. once i was shopping for new furniture and there were black people around and i was afraid to say to my friend i din't like the throw pillows she picked out because they were black, it just didn't go with my furniture and the color will depress my room in a gothic way! Still i was afraid to say it without them thinking i was being racist against the color black lol. Hope i made sense!!
I don't want to say the n-word, but i would like to say i hate rap music without a debate, or a certain black actress. Once i said i hated naomi cambell because she acts like a biatch and a black chick yelled at me and said "you hate her because she's black"! NO!! I just dislike her personally sheesh!!

I am trying very very hard to answer this question, but the words just won't come out right, do whatever makes YOU happy, but do not attempt to impose on other people of color this simplistic answer.
Do you know the history of the "N" word? I think not, perhaps you should do some research, and afterwards, if you still feel that it is OK for people to direct that vile, derogatory word on you, by all means, go for it.
What people say or do behind my back, I do not have a problem with , I can't control it and wouldn't want to. However, I do want the same respect given to me that I give others. I do not use racial slurs directly toward another person, nor do I use it in a public setting. So I am requesting reciprocity.

I want to agree with you, really i do, BUT i don't think that it's wise to promote racism. Any educated and decent white KNOWS that it is wrong to use the N-word.
We can have our opinions based on stereotypes and personal experiences but no one should be excluded because of them or hated because of them either.
I myself am not racist, just prejudice, I will judge someone before I know them but will not exclude them as friends because of my prejudice, make sense? For good reason though.
You mention this idea with whites and blacks as your subjects, but I think that this should just be the standard of living for ALL, basically.

So I guess we should let them say whatever they please........after all we do have freedom of speech. But black people should also be able to be openly racist if they won't...but then again I don't think we're as cautious as white people though.

I agree it seems that trying not to be accidentally racist is actually creating racism and thats just wrong. Both groups should just try not to be offended and learn to get along. The only real difference is skin and thats not even an inch thick.
