Save your parents some cash and get a nice little used car. 16 year-olds shouldn't be getting huge, gas-guzling SUVs just to be "cute". They're very expensive, and dangerous in the hands of inexperienced drivers. Plus, they use so much gas that you'll spend your whole allowance filling it up.

but 16 yr. olds should not get an SUV as a first car--not a good idea. They are not very safe at all. Try getting a dodge stratus or chrysler as a first car--dependable and much safer

A Hyundai Sana Fe is a cute smaller car... but be careful because all SUVs like to tip over if you manever too radically.

I would say a Jeep Cherokee. They are cute, not completely girly but they get around good in the snow. You can get different models for it depending on the kind of snow that you get which might be helpful.
