I miscarried a blighted ovum 6-7 weeks ago. Had unprotected sex a month ago. Have not received a period yet since misc. Recently I started to feel tired & lightheaded. Took a EPT home preg. test this morning & it was a faint positive. Could this be a new pregnancy, or the hcg showing up from my miscarriage? My breasts are not sore so I'm a little confused.
Thanks:)

I want to start out by saying how sorry I am that you suffered the loss of your first pregnancy.

You wouldn't be showing up pregnant that long after a miscarriage as a result of the lost pregnancy. THe hormones dissipate in the system quickly, and would be completely gone much sooner than 6 weeks after the miscarriage.

You are likely pregnant again. You should go to your ob-gyn and have him/her to do a blood test to determine your pregnancy status, and discuss stops to take to help avoid a 2nd miscarriage.

Great question. Two weeks after having a miscarriage I tested positive on a preg test, 3 weeks after, I tested negative. I know it sounds weird taking p tests after a miscarriage, but I had been wanting a baby for 13 years and getting pregnant was my greatest dream come true and I wasnt ready to let go of it. Based on my experience, it sounds as though your pregger's again, Congrats.

My sister in law miscarried Oct 31st and got pregnant the week she went away on her honeymoon Nov 15th. So definitly possible you're pregnant. If a faint positive showed on an EPT then your'e certiainly not too early to have a blood test done (which is very reccomended after a miscarriage)

6 weeks is too long to still have traces of the pregnancy hormone in your system,if u got a faint positive take that as a positive pregnancy now. I had a miscarriage a couple yrs ago and the pregnancy hormone was out of my system relitively quick. Take another test in 3 days..good luck!!
p.s not every pregnancy is the same, with my daughter my breasts never got sore and with my son they were hardly noticable, with my miscarriage and now with this pregnancy they hurt terribly

this is a really good question. i can tell you that after a miscarriage it is VERY easy to become pregnant again an dyes right away! but in your case this is very hard to tell. because it is very possibe that you do still have hormones in your body from the miscarriage i had a miscarriage before and it took almost a month for the HCG levels to get to zero. i would defanitatly call your docter and get a blood test done it can tell you if this is a new or old pregnacy. good luck and i hope this helps a lil bit...

It is not unheard of for hcg to linger this long. If this is the case, your doctor should be monitoring your numbers to make sure they drop. That said, you very well could be pregnant again. Research shows that women tend to conceive a bit more quickly after a miscarriage. In fact, studies show that women ovulate a bit more quickly after a natural miscarriage and conceive a bit more quickly. However even if you had a D&C, it is still very possible you conceived. The best way to know is have your doctor take two hcg levels about 48 hours apart to see if they are rising. Keep in mind, if you are pregnant as hcg levels rise their doubling time takes longer so do not panic if they do not double in two days. Best of luck to you and I hope you get the best of results.

this happened to me also. and i was pregnant

but on the istructions it should say that if you had a miscarraige in the last month or so you can use it or you can't. mine did. try to get another test where on the instructions it says you can use after a month or so of miscarraige. i can't remember the exact time it said when you can use it. i guess its something around a month.
good luck

it can still be showing up from the miscarriage.. go to the doc and get them to do blood work.
