It's been awhile since I was in college, but my son is a freshman at a small liberal arts school in Massachusetts.

He is loving it...he's met lots of new friends, enjoys his classes and the freedom of living away from home. He stays very busy with school work and also now participates in student council and some club/intramural sports to stay physically active.

I think a big key is to get involved. Really throw yourself into the whole experience and get out there. This is a very special time in your life so make the most of it. I mean, re: schoolwork, activities, social life, etc. But be careful, and make good decisions, as well. You want to remain safe and keep your life on a positive path.

Best of luck to you.
