The closest airport to the Grand Canyon south rim is the Grand Canyon National Park Airport in the town of Tusayan located approximately 9 miles from Grand Canyon Village. I believe the closest airport to the Grand Canyon north rim is the Page Municipal Airport in Page, Arizona located approximately 125 miles to the northeast. I have landed in both of these airports. They are small but there are scheduled flights into both.

If you are looking for the closest Large Airport it would be Las Vegas. It is a little over 90 miles away. Besides, it would be a good excuse to go to Vegas.

Flagstaff would be my guess, but if you're looking for cheap tickets and/or a major airport, then you are best with PHX (Phoenix Sky Harbor). US Airways has a major hub there due to its merger with America West.
