5.50 through one of the best automatic washes around. washes, under body, clearcoat wax and even dries it by high pressure hot air. In under 45 seconds the car goes from filth to clean and cry.

cost you more than that just in quarters at a self spray off and those never clean your car but only knock the top layer off. and those brushes are the worse for your paint and most use them on their wheels...so now you smear brake dust all over your car as your try to wash it, in turn actually scratching it instead.

buy the time you buy the CORRECT products to use at home, string out the hose, and do the entire job...it will cost you more than 5.50 in time, even if you only make minimum wage as it will take you at least a hour to do this job. let alone the cost factor will be just as much if not more than a car wash or spray off car wash.

I normally run it through the car wash about once a week, depending on weather, road conditions, rain amounts, etc.

I stopped getting it done at a car wash because their machines leave swirl marks in my clear coat. I do it myself a the coin wash for $4 and save about $6 by doing that.

I wash my truck once a year, wither it needs it or not. The dirt works as a protector from scratches. The car wash here charges $9+ to run it thru.

my wife forced me to take the car through one of those drive through jobbies (the car was white with salt), it was $10.50 for one that washed the undercarriage and had a "blow dry" at the end , its been too cold to wash by hand, i was pleasantly surprised that it did a good job and the doors did not freeze!

$6-$8 when it's real dirty and never when the temps in the single digits, or worse like today, so the doors don't freeze shut and the paint pop off. lol
