I had a D+C after a miscarraige recently. My first 2 periods afterwards were very long and heavy with more cramps than usual. My doctor warned me that this might happen. He said it usually takes 3 cycles for things to get back to normal. However if it hasn't ended or at least showed signs of slowing down after more than 2 weeks, I would probably give my doctor a call just in case.

I'm not sure how worried you should be, but I would definatly check with your doctor. I had a D&E one year ago, but my periods returned to normal fairly quick! The only difference between your procedure and mine is that mine was done with a vacume like instrument while yours was scraped out. Do call your doctor, because bleeding and scarring are definately one of the risks.

See your Gyn ASAP to find out what's going on. Bleeding that long is not normal.

When the same thing happened to me, it was due to a hormonal imbalance. But, the bleeding could be from many causes.

See your Gyn right away!
