I have a Squier guitar, and I borrowed a whammy bar from a friend of mine. I tried putting it on my guitar but it won't fit. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you probably just need to get one that was designed for a Squier guitar. Chances are that there isn't a universal size for whammy bars, and you happened to get one that was too big for your particular guitar.

No, they are very different from manufacturer to manufacturer, they also mount differently. You'll have to look for the Fender-type whammy bar, only that will fit your guitar.

different bars fit different guitars. If you are trying to put a floyd rose, for example, on, the hole probably is too small to receive it. You may find it easier to get one from a guitar store or repair shop that will fit it properly. after you get it working, listen to "Wiggle stick" by Reverend Horton Heat.
