I'm a 26 yr old mom of an 8 month old. My post partum periods have not been regular but I've had 3 of them and now nothing. I"m obsessing about being pregnant, but i'm starting to wonder if my obsessive worrying and thinking about it could be causing me to be late.
I have absolutely no pregnancy symptoms, lots of energy, no sore ness, sickness, etc, that I had with my first pregnancy.
We have been using condoms but had a "problem" one this month, so I know i COULD be pregnant, but I'm hoping i'm not becuase its a little soon for #2 for us (although not the end of the world by any means it would still be a blessing!)
So my question is is it possible to stress about missing a period so much that you can actually be causing it to be late? Thanks!

From one mom to another....First thing I would recommend is simply take a at home pregnancy test. These test are very accurate, they even have some that you can take very early ie. after a "problem" condom. There is no need to sit an stress over the possibility of a pregnancy when you can find out. You have a 8 month old at home with you and the stress you are putting on yourself can effect the baby too, especially if you at breastfeeding. Yes stress can cause missed and late periods...Trust me you will feel so much better if you just take the test then you can deal with the results.

Yes,it happens all the time..There very well could be the possibility of pregnancy right now so dont take any of this as your pregnancy results and still take a test to put your mind at ease if u are still late..After having a baby your body does weird things, your periods will be wayyy off for the first year at least, sometimes u MIGHT even miss one or 2..My friend/coworker could have sworn she was pregnant, she obsessed and obsessed over it everyday *she wanted a baby pretty badly* she would eat everything and say she was pregnant, she was very late at one point, she would als be early but never completely missed a period, she even got bigger everywhere though, she never was pregnant but believed it for a while..there has been times where i thought i was pregnant and would stress over it when my baby was only 4 months old and my periods would come very late almost a week or 2 late, but never was pregnant...so take a test to be sure but it could be possible its all in your head..good luck!

Yes. Mine has been late completely due to stress. More than once all I had to do was take a pregnancy test(it was negative) and I would get my period within 24 nrs. Strange how the mind and body work. Good luck.

Stress of any sort can cause your periods to act weird, especially if they're already irregular. So can illness or a lack of adequate sleep. Give it a week or so and take a pregnancy test if you're still worried.

Before a missed period? I wouldnt think most would have symptoms until at least 5-6 weeks so it doesnt seem to likely. But, we are all different.

Stress can absolutely impact hormone levels, and cause your already irregular periods to go even farther out of whack. Diet and nursing can also play a role.

Yes, I've known three women whose periods were late by as much as two weeks due to worrying they were pregnant.

I think you should take a home preg test or go see your doctor for a blood preg test. You could be pregnant, anythings possible.
