I swear I remember that Luke told Obi-Wan that his father didn't serve in the "colonial wars" (he was a navigator on a spice freighter) BUT in the re-make he clearly says "clone wars". Am I smoking crack, or is that one of GL's changes?

"clone wars" was the term used in the original release. Leia also refers to the "clone wars" in her message. I still have the original VHS release from the early 80's. GL's novelization of SW (which he wrote himself) was released well before the film and also refers to the "clone" wars....

This is a GL change. He made several dialog and plot changes in order to better tie in the original Star wars trilogy and the second trilogy. It worked but fans that watched the originals and the remakes usually can pick out the differences

It was definatly clone wars, it was also refered to other places such as the hologram by leia she said "you served my father in the clone wars"
