In society, we supposedly treasure diversity. With inter-racial dating our diversity will eventually go away. Realistically, different cultures don't usually have a whole lot in common. I don't do it myself and don't like the way it is portrayed in media and schools. Let's say for example that some lower class black men consider white women a trophy. We can try to pretend this isn't the truth, but it is. I don't care if someone makes a decision to date outside of their race, but it is sad to see women that are taken advantage of. These women have unknowingly lowered their social standing. The fact is that many guys do not want to date a woman that does this.

I think interracial dating is perfectly fine. A person is a person, even though they may have different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes people tend to fear the unknown, and so choose to stay with what they know to feel safer and more secure. Others are more willing and find it interesting to learn about differences are more able to accept people of any race or culture.

Love is something special between two people. A quote from Mother Teresa "I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love." You see, it's about sacrifice for the other person, and as long as the other person can do that too, despite their race, you can find love.

I've dated interacially, and it's no different from me dating someone black. It's fine by me. Personality, Commitment and Chemistry define love, not color.

i used to be against it, but that was before I fell in love with a girl from Ethiopia. I'm white, she's black. We're good friends and she doesn't know that i love her. But we're practically dating.

My dad hates it, but I don't have to listen to him anymore.
Although it doesn't always seem to work that way for me (more then half of my friends are chinese), basically I don't want to judge my friends on their race, but on their individual personalities and appearance.

What I want to know is why we still have questions like this. Like color actually MATTERS. "Oh, I'm not gonna date someone cause their skin color is slightly different than mine". It makes me sick. I mean where to people draw the line. "His skin color is slightly ivory while mine is pure white, so we can't date." I think if you want to date someone, then DATE THEM. Good god.
