Your landlord must serve you with an evicition notice, stating the reason. the notice gives you 5 days to pay the outstanding rent or you must vacate the premises within 10 days. if you don't pay it. The 10 days is from the day you receive the notice. so if he gave it to you on the 15th you have till the 20th to pay, or the 25th to vacate. If you don't vacate or pay on or before the 25th, then the landlord must apply to the rental board, for a writ of possession (costs him money) then you have a specified time to either vacate or appeal to the rental board. If you still do nothing, don't appeal, or vacate, or pay, the landlord must then retain a balliff (sherriff) (costs even more ) and they will come and enter the premises, and physically remove all your belongings onto the street. The landlord can't enter you apt, or stop you from entering, he can't change the locks etc. without proper documents. If he tries to enter and remove you or your belongings you should call the police because it's against the law.
