I love the character Scout from the book To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and I was jsut wondering if you liked that name for a baby girl. Thanks!

I love the character too, but I think Scout is just a little too masculine of a name. She was a real tomboy and the name fit her character. What if your baby grows up to be a frilly little girl...she's going to hate the name.
I think an imaginative way to honor the character you love would be to name your daughter "Halee", which is a combined form of the name HArper LEE...the woman who created the character.
Just a thought.

I'm sorry, but to tell the truth Scout makes me think of the dog. Scout could be your daughter's nick name. Maybe you should name her after Harper Lee, name her Leah. You could also name her after another character in the book. Good luck and God bless!

Scout would be adorable for a boy, not so much for a girl though, try looking up compund names, like Patty Ann, which is short for Patricia Ann, or Gina Belle. Those are some of the prettiest names.
