My 27 year old son is named Nathaniel. He goes by Nathan most of the time. I think both names mean the same, gift of God. I guarantee you my son was a gift of God. I tried to call him Nathaniel for most of his life, but in Jr. High he shortened it to Nathan.
Some people tried to call him Nate or Nat. I hate both names. I wish he still went by Nathaniel, but Nathan is ok.
