I think it's Doug Flutie with 21 years.

Not even close, Flutie spent half his career in Canadian Football, that don't count.
Answer is George Blanda, played 27 years. Started his career not long after World War II, and was still playing when Bradshaw and Staubach were at their peak taking the Steelers and Cowboys to Super Bowls.
