is it possible for someone to get accepted even if they are missing 1 of the required units (in my case it is a foreign language that i can't make up). I have all the other credits and all the reccomended credits, also my school counselor said that she can right them a letter explaining why i don't have that foreign language credit.

it depends.
they usually are understanding..especially if it just a foreign language and you aren't planning on pursuing it further.

Yes. My son -- a freshman at a top notch liberal arts college -- dropped foreign language his senior year simply because he didn't enjoy the course. No one even asked him about it. His other "credentials" were impeccable, though.

I imagine you'll be OK. We rolled the dice a bit and let our younger son drop foreign language in this junior year, for the same reason... didn't enjoy, dragging down GPA, other challenging-yet-enjoyable courses available, etc. Our fingers are crossed that it won't affect his "desirability" much, either.
