I find it hard to imagine. I have never experienced joy in all my life, not even when I was very young (all I knew was surviving day to day).

Do people really become happy or is it a mythical story that they use as an opiate for the miserable audiences?

Your story makes me sad that you have never experienced joy.
Living in America it is hard to believe that some people survive day by day. I have known rough times, but I never thought I would ever starve. This country has a giving heart, because of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose Son is Jesus Christ. My joy comes from the Lord and my hope in Him.

They are probably telling you the truth, many think that they have attained joy in worldly victories such as wealth, popularity, power etc. True joy comes from the Father and you too are welcome to experience it.
