I didn't know what to do and I was still half asleep so I moved all the blankets off the bed except the sheet. So upon waking I put my sheets in the washing maching, but I'm not sure what to do about my matress. It's a bit damp and smelly and gross and Im not sure what I should spray it with or clean it with.

Please help. Sorry for giving you gross details.

This happened to me once when my son threw up on my bed. I used extra strength liquid laundry soap with a little water and baking soda to help get rid of the smell. Then applied it with a clean rag and soft bristled brush and just let it air dry. it worked great ! Good luck : )

Clean up with dry rags, as much as you can. If you have vinegar around spray it onto your mattress and let this dry, either use a fan or a dryer. If you are still feeling yuck, let it air dry, don't cover your mattress till it is really dry. Hope you feel better now.

I think I'd want to use an upholstery cleaner (the type you rent, that shoots water out.. and immediately vacuums it back up). I would then leave it to air dry the remainder of the way.

I would clean it with a spot carpet cleaner like "Spot Shot" and let it air dry (in the sun if possible). Then I would spray it with "Lysol" and let that air dry (in the sun if possible).
