God can do it because He does not need anything...Who can give God anything...Is there something that He lacks that He can receive...That's unconditional love...

On the other hand, there's us. Can we do this? How then are we supposed to be like Him?

That's what I would suggest you think about. Maybe you should ask Him about this matter.

no the giving is the act of recieving the feelings that we get in giving

Yes. One can give without recieving. In a sense you do recieve something in return. Maybe something to eat, or a place to stay. But the best thing about giving is that if the person is honest, he/ she will actually REMEMBER you during a time of need.

depends, not everyone can continuously give and be happy without ever receiving in return, at some point we all expect something in return.

can you love someone and never expect them to love you back?

would you be happy giving gifts to people and never receive anything in return? wouldn't you think that they dont care about you?

i think the only thing that comes close, is charities, cause you're doing something for the common good, and its natural that you dont expect anything in return.

Not truly because the receiving one gets while giving is joy.

No. At the minimum you receive self satisfaction, or assuage a guilt. Ying Yang, cause and effect...call it what you want the, the results the same.

I would rather give than receive. It's a wonderful feeling.

YES. Seems like we all feel better if you give instead of receiving. Makes us feel good about our self

i am not sure - but this scenario went through my head: someone who gives thier life in order to save someone else. but then you could debate that they would "recieve" an afterlife in heaven. so to rephrase the question 'can one give without recieving during thier course of life on this earth' i would say yes - then note the scenario above.

yes, when giving is the ultimate goal for somebody.
God gives without even waiting to receive, coz He loves us.
Mother gives without receiving, coz she loves her kids.
anybody who loves somebody truly gives without receiving.
