How can I get more megabytes to install the sims?

I recently brought the sims 2 for pc.when i put the disk in everything was working fine until it said not enough free space.i needed 2875.03 megbytes.i only have like 400.i need to know how to get 2875.03 megabytes.

That I beleive is your harddrive space. What I would do first is double click on my computer. Then right click on local disc C and it will tell you how big your hardrive is. Your hardive should be a lot bigger than 3 gigabites which is what you need. You probable have a lot of junk on your PC I would go through and delete most of the stuff you dont use. Also uninstall any games or programs that you never use any more. Then I would right click on local disc C again and you should see a button that says disc cleanup. Click that and it will delete some of the garabage that is on your hard drive. If that still isnt engough then right click on local disc C there should be a tab that says tools on top. Click that and go to defrag drive. What this does is it finds scattered files and organizes them better this might free up some space. Other wise Your gonna have to buy a bigger harddrive if you do this I reccomend going to www.newegg.com.

Buy and fit a new hard drive, the easiest would be a USB2 type.
But I do not think your processor will be fast enough for the Sims2.

That last guy clearly has no idea what he's talking about. That number is hard drive space. Just uninstall programs that you don't need, or delete files you no longer use. If you need a bigger hard drive, buy a bigger hard drive. If you use www.newegg.com they're not very expensive.

Those megabytes are hardware, meaning if you want to add more you need to open up ur computer, you cant just buy one and download it, thats stupid. I suggest getting a brand new computer because installing more megabytes is pretty hard to do.
