We know Iran will never be able to win.

As a conservative, I like hearing what the retired soldiers said. Because conventional warfare is no longer common in the world, we would be getting ourselves into another tough situation. Guerilla warfare is effective, although cowardly, on the part of the insurgents in Iraq and likely would be the same in Iran. Our Rules Of Engagement do not allow us to be as pro-active as we shold be. Unless that would change, and we could play with the same set of rules they play by, I would not be a fan of going into Iran.

All that being said, I will support our gov't instead of bashing without any sort of resolution.

There is no reason to attack Iran. The media is spinning this thing and NOT the administration. There are entire processess that must be worked through before we go running off to war.

First thing we have to look at is the political situation on the ground in Iran. Ahmedinijad is having political trouble among his own, right now. He lacks the political ability to do much outside his own borders, therefore he isn't much of a threat.

Second, the student, who are the largest demographic in Iran are ticked off at him and desire a more Western friendly administration. We would NOT want to hurt that possible political ally.

Third, we could hit Iran and win, there is no question. We are in a good place to do it and we do have the force to handle it but there is no political will world wide for such an attack.....yet.

first of all, don't u want to think for a moment that Iran may win in the war? How can it be impossible. Secound, We have some people who will sacrifies themselves for the sake of the nation and this is the thing cause the war against iran to be transformed into a disaster.

This is why they're retired! To not attack Iran and knock out it's nuclear capabilities would be the disaster. It's time to end this threat or see our kids having to deal with it. By then, it will be a bigger threat, and one that could not be easily resolved.

Today, we have the strength and resources to make short work of it, why not play from our strenghts, and exploit their weaknesses. The whole middle east problem is centered in Iran. Eliminate this threat, and the whole middle east will calm down.

We are talking about a nuclear program here, with the possibility of nuclear weapons(weapons of mass destruction) - ever heard of Chernobyl?
Additionally, starting a war with Iran could possibly lead to political tension - meaning that it could be a spark for another world war or something like it.

It is not a matter of who will win, but the consequence of the attack.

I agree totally with Beachman. If we are going to go into a war equipped with political correctness and walk around on egg shells, let's just not go. Let's go ahead and buy our prayer mats now.

But yes, I will support those in office long before I support retirees with no access to intel.

Sounds like what some said before the attack on Iraq, they were right. Maybe we should listen this time.

Let's get bin Laden instead.
