Our youth is being sucked into depression! Depression is cool for must of those emo kids, but now their infecting everything!! Also kids are getting into drugs because they think it's "cool" even though they know the effects of what they can do to a person.

The government plays big role, parents, teachers, it's just not the same anymore.

Because our schools do not teach critical thinking skills or skills that prepare students for life in the real world. Most schools teach the "test" of how to fill in the bubbles. Other problems are that our school system is still doing it the the way they did 20 to 30 years ago. Teaching Mythology in high school is a waste of time, kids are allowed to leave campuses for lunch and many schools have 35 to 40 kids per class - meaning the marginal student falls through the cracks, while the exceptional student excels because they are not challenged.

Couple this with parents who force schools to remove classic novels and real science taught in the class room and it is easy to see why the American student is failing when compared to students from other countries in the same grade level. I Think many high school students are graduating with an actual education level of a 8th or 9th grade equivalence, many are not going on to college, or pursuing careers like engineering, medical or even teaching - they don't see the benefits of being a life long learner, they have poor role models at home and at school.

Because of the NEA and it's liberal agenda. Liberals want Americans to be smart enough to make money to pay taxes, but not smart enough to question and think independently, that's anathema to their goal of socialization. So massive amounts of classroom time, previously used to teach basic educational precepts (reading, writing, math, history, etc.) is now used for social engineering. Self esteem is given higher priority than performance. Eventually, the American public will be dumbed down to the point that the government will have a free hand to do whatever it likes, and the public will need government for it's very survival. Voila! Socialism at it's finest. The democrats win.

How come our youth isn't very well educated? lol

I don't know but its sad. In today's date and age there are billions more things and info going on in the world so it just may seam that they know nothing when they really know a lil about most things or they are just dumb lol

some one said "Teachers don't really care enough to properly motivate there students."

There are a lot of teachers that care but they need to get paid 2x the money.

Because Knowledge is power and this may be a shock to you but most people who have power don't like to share it. We live in a very segregated society just think about it.

We have Communist and Democratic nations, we have Republican and Democratic party's we have community colleges and university's we have blue collar and white collar jobs and we have the poor and the working poor.

And many of these people with these high paying and affluent potions know that it isn't a level playing field that's why they send their kids to expensive Catholic and privet schools and on to affluent ale university's like Harvard, Yale, and Oxford. So that their kids can be the next generations of big movers and shakers and or leaders of our society.

However someone has to flip the burgers, someone has to take out the garbage, someone has to clean up their houses, and someone has to watch their kids and take care of their lawns and who dose that leave.

If you look at Asian countries..,ie Japan and China where there is strict discipline in their schools, they are the brightest and most intelligent children.

I believe we are failing our children by taking discipline out of our homes and out of our schools. We are becoming so politically correct that is has destroyed our nation.

Public schools are more interested in teaching homosexual tolerance, global warming etc..,what happened to the basics of teaching?

Great question.

Our youth is not well educated because we keep giving all of our resources to minorities and foreign countries! Remember guns do not kill people dangerous minorities do.

I don't know, but the proper wording would be 'well-educated' or 'educated properly'. So answer your own question.

Lot's of reasons for this....

Parents don;t care enough to get as involved as they should.

Teachers don't really care enough to properly motivate there students.

Students have too many outside distractions keeping them from studies.

The list goes on.
