The pups are being beat to death for their white fur, food, blubber, to prevent overpopulation, and to help stop the loss of fish known as Cod. Another reason they kill them is because some people think it’s fun.

I would guess its for their fur. I love animals but many people don't. I couldn't kill any reptile amphibian bird or mammal

because they taste good...actually they don't taste good and people kill them for their pelts and leave the meat to rot. I am personally against this . I don't think you should kill anyting you arn't going to eat. except for public health reasons. I mean you don't have to eat rats and other vermin that infest your home.
