run around the yard and act like a nut, the squirrels will see you and come out of the attic. =)
try to find out where they are going in at and block off the entrance, you could set a live trap in the attic to catch them too.

Funny you should ask, because I answered a question like this once
before ... so it is: the same song, different verse!
Yes: get an exterminator.... they trap squirrels and let them free... and get someone to come at the same time
and close the entrances the squirrels
use to get into the attic. Unless the
exterminator has a double-business,
in which case ... .he'll do it for you.

Too many people are enamored with them because of the long fuzzy tail ,
BUT they are rats with fuzzy tails, and they will chew your framing to bits.
Get the green rat bait pellets, put the box in the attic away from pets.
Close attic door, they should be gone inside a week.

A fairly good sized speaker at each end of the attic
Jimi Hendrix with Machine Gun at full volume every

They should leave if you disturb them but the bigger problem is keeping them out. They can squeeze thru small spaces. You must seal entry points with metal, wire, maybe caulk. They will chew thru plastic and wood.Get a Have a Heart trap.Trap the little tree rat and take it to a new location, preferably a new zip code. There maybe some ultrasonic sound gizmo to keep them away. Try your local Agway store.

Getting them out isn't the problem, KEEPING them out is the problem. They will go out during the day, but can you get up there fast enough and plug all their entrances?
Three churches had this problem. The first church decided they were God's creatures and learned to live with them. The second church was able to chase them off, but they came back. The third church baptized them and now they only come back at Easter and Christmas.

Peanut butter on BIG mousetraps, and go around and stop up all the holes they're getting into with screen wire.
Do it quick, because they,ll eat the insulation on your electric wiring, and it'll short out, and burn your house down.

I think if you put a couple of drops of fox or skunk urine (available from sporting goods dealers) that should be enough to chase them off. It beats burning down the house to get rid of 'em!
