Hi there and Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Believe me there is no reason for you to run to the doctor or to the ER just because you had a bit of spotting. Stop the strenuous exercises until after you talk to your doctor. If it makes you feel better you could call the doctors office and leave a message with his nurse. Do not be surprised if they do not treat this like an emergency, it is not.
IF the bleeding becomes profuse and if the cramping becomes really serious then I would give some thoughts to being seen but even if you were having a miscarriage there is nothing that could be done about it. I would assume that you would be more comfortable in the familar surroundings of your own home rather than lying on some narrow gurney in the ER. At least at home you can make a pot of tea, watch some tv, read a good book...do the things that feel good to you.
Spotting happens so often in early pregnancy that it is hardly reason for concern. The key here is the word spotting. As long as that is all that it is and as long as it goes away right away you have nothing to worry about. But, if it continues or begins to increase rather than decrease, it is something that you should report to your doctor.
Odds are that everything is fine and you will not have a repeat of what happened. You are probably fine and the only thing that will tell is time.
Take it easy and baby yourself a bit. Let some time go by and see what happens!
Good luck honey.

I have answered this type of question loads lately...at 6 and a half weeks I had cramping one evening and then bled the following morning. I bled for three days before it stopped. An internal scan (because it was so early on in the pregnancy) confirmed all was ok. I was also shocked because the Doctor I saw at the maternity unit was so quick to reassure me that this was sooo common and that so many women went on to have no further problems.. It was very reassuring and im now at 11 weeks with no bleeding since. I cant say the same about the cramping though, that has been there for me since I missed my period. Its getting less now but was fairly bad for the first two months, but it was obviously nothing to worry about. As for the painkillers, the way to look at that is to see how many of us Drink, smoke, take painkillers etc before we even know we are pregnant...including me..I was on pain relief for a back problem. They told me not to worry. Hope all goes well for you. x x x

First of all, when you have this kind of question, do not hesitate to see a doctor. It is better to be safe than sorry. And make sure not to stress your self out before you get any answers from your physician. Stress could affect your condition just as well as any medication.Theres overreacting and then there is hesitation due to the fear of "bothering" a doctor with something that your not sure about. The fact that you are not sure and have had certain symptoms are reason enough. This is what they get paid for, not to mention the oath that they take to become doctors. If you need more than one opinion then so be it. Good Luck

I miscarried in Jan 08 and that is devastating once you pick a toddler a lot. You truly only ought to trust that toddler wasn't meant to be and stay efficient you're able to have yet another. regrettably there's a a million in 4 chance each and every time you get pregnant that you'll miscarry so that you maximum likley had undesirable luck. trust and attempt again even as waiting. My husband and that i determined that it may make us chuffed to be pregnant again and conceived the very next month and went on to have a healthy lady in November. sturdy luck and only comprehend it receives extra perfect.

Go to the ER or a private ob/gyn...bleeding/spotting and cramps are usually not a good sign...the first sign of my miscarriage was light spotting that lead to a tiny bit of tissue passed just after a few days and then the cramps started to come with low backache...thats when i knew..spotting is never considered normal and especially when it is involved with cramps...chances are it could also be nothing though,i would get checked out for the sake and well being of you and your baby...good luck!

Go straight to accident and emergency now. I miscarried a few weeks ago and its not good. They could keep you over night and keep an eye on you and give you a scan in the morning to make sure every thing is OK.
I do hope you are going to be alright, best of luck and start to chill out now.
