I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.
I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow.
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

Well, first you have to anesthetize the patient (you don't want him complaining about your work while you're about it, do you?). Then, in a clean and sterile environment, incise the chest at the sternum in a Y shape. Break the sternum with a breaker, then open the rib cage. Cut through the membranes to access the heart. Inspect the heart to locate the break. With a suture kit, mend the break in the heart. Then, making sure you haven't left anything behind such as extra gauze, sponges, or dead cats, suture the membranes, close the chest cavity, and suture the skin. Keep the patient on painkillers and antibiotics, change the dressings twice a day, and serve the blandest nastiest food you can find. Voila! One broken heart mended!

ah my favorite topic. a broken heart, the most unfortunate of experiences. i'd been through it when the lady i loved said a simple "NO" to me. days go by without her.
time never heals it makes people forget the past experience though there is a wound, a wound so deep that it can never be healed. the best way to mend a broken heart is to be outright rational. there is no point brooding over that which went by. if you cry over the past, there is no point. move on, just move on.
if only it was this easy, the mind thinks rationally. but when it comes to heart and emotions, it's so god damn tough to get over a broken feeling. ask me! i somehow feel i am better off with a broken heart than to think rationally and kill my true feeling for this lady.

Oh dear god - what a load of tosh you get on here. People praying for you, or shagging every stranger that comes along won't do much for you.
You loved and lost - get over it. The pain won't last for ever.
You aren't the first, you won't be the last.
The simplest way to mend a broken heart is to have some "me" time............be totally selfish for a while.
Stuff everyone else for a while - do what you want, when you want, and how you want.

You don't. You take care of the edges where it continues to run, and from there figure out ways to embrace the busted seams.
That's part of life, and if it they healed easily, we'd have very little to worry about, at least when it comes to relationship suffering and broken hearts.
Let it be broken. Don't delight in it, of course, but don't shy away from the fact that it's busted up. It's ok for things to be unfixable like that. It's part of what makes being alive so exquisite, the ability to feel profound loss.

Hi,
When my heart was broken by the boy I loved and the man I married...I cried endlessly and tried everything I could to heal the situation.
One day I came accross a quote I didn't even recognize-even though I should have-misery can blind you even to the familiar and priceless.
I read the quote and then took out a pen and lettered the whole quote on bright yellow quality stock and hung it up on the wall of the best lit room in my apartment and sat on the floor in front of it every day and quietly read it and then read it out loud.
After weeks of being convinced these words were written for me in my situation it dawned on me where they were from!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talk about feeling 'duhhhh'...the light entered into me and I realized...anyone who would hurt me and make me feel this way and desert me really didn't love me.
He wasn't really the "love of my life".
I went to my pastor in the town I grew up in 30 miles away and talked to him.
Had tea with him and talked some more.
He was there for me as well as my family day and night and I mean day and night!!!!!!
The verses that administered to me were in:
I Corinthians 13.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not boastful, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails..."
The phone bills from mom were outrageous in a time when there were no special deals in 1972-
and mom had very meager savings.
I lost most of my friends, but 2 hung in there and helped me through.
Trust God.
Don't be too proud to ask for help and listen.
Remember you are in shock and not seeing things too clearly.
Be open to serendipity.
Stay in the now.
Trust God.
I will pray for you.
Love,
Lily

It takes time but like the old saying time is a great healer
At the moment it feels like the end of the world
Take each day as it comes
Go out even if you wont enjoy yourself yet
but before long you will realise that you have enjoyed your self then you will be ready to move on
In time you will be able to look at that person and wonder why you got so upset over them
