I really do believe in 'live and let live'. But, like any potential problem, it has to start somewhere. There are degrees of drunkenness, and there are places where it is definitely unsafe to be drunk. As far as your body is concerned, one big hit at weekend is more damaging than a small amount each night. One problem with alcohol, is that, we are brilliant at convincing ourselves that we don't have a problem, even when other people can see that we have. Also, the thing that we do our evaluating with, our brain, is the very thing that is affected, and I don't just mean on the night, but a slow erosion of mental faculty over time.
So, if over time you end up with a problem, ask yourself when did it start? That might be the same question that you are asking us now. Sadly, by saying that you love to get drunk, I think that you are starting to develop a problem. It makes you sick eventually, or worse, so more doesn't equal better. But, peer pressure!

That's how it all started with me. First it was only weekends. As I grew older I began to reward myself by drinking through the week days. For example - I'd obsessively clean the house top to bottom, make a really great supper for my family and then start laundry as they were all getting ready for bed. Then I would pop the cork on a bottle of wine, light a few candles and finish the laundry while everyone was snug in their beds, my alone time. As a couple years rolled by I realized there were a few bottles in the garbage and I was actually getting drunk about every three days. I began to find reasons for getting drunk. Like after my boys football games they were undefeated and well the team mom needed to celebrate. After all I worked hard on making those white pants glow on the field. Now by the grace of God and alot of prayer I've been sober for 9 years. Just remember if you lose control you have no control and that leaves you open to addiction!

hi there...getting very drunk at weekends, or on other occasions is classed as binge drinking and is a form of alcoholism...when I was a young girl ( imagine it said like a doddery old lady!) I used to do this, on many occasions I'd wake in places I shouldn't be and once in hospital with a fractured eye orbit ( apparently I was attempying to dance on a very low wall!)It is actually frightingly dangerous to do this as it makes you extremely vulnerable as your inhibitions are drastically reduced along with how fast you react in situations. I am pretty sure that nearly every one goes through this stage, most get totally fed up with waking up feeling terrible and not even remembering things.. some will continue as it makes you feel in your mind that you are un winding. But at the end of the day it is dangerous to do this and as I am frequently told a little in moderation ( of nearly all things in life) will usually be fine.. And remember there is only one you, and only you can look after yor self. Take care and all the best.

No but if you have to drink to go to work, drink during lunch, drink when you wake up, or drink just to get through the day or deal with life in general, then that may be a problem.
