Yes, it is very different to get into foreign colleges in some countries however not so hard in others. You should talk to your advisor at your college or High School about the country that you are chosing to attend. You can find specific information about each countries admission policy at the colleges' website. You can also think about going to study in a foreign college through a college in your country. By doing it this way, you can make sure that you are keeping on the right track to being able to apply your studies in America. For instance, I thought about taking my veterinary studies in a carribbean island that is famous for its vet medicine. I found out though that I would have to take a very expensive test when I got back to America if I wanted to practice in America. Therefore, even if you are going to attend a foreign college, you should also talk to an advisor from your country.

Good Luck! You will have so much fun studying abroad - I will never forget mine!

Definitely. For me, it's toughest in US and UK to get into college. Lots of admission requirements. Some countries do not have that many requirements. If you're looking to study in another country just check the Department of education in that country, it should contain more or less the schools and requirements.

For example, in the Philippines, you only need to submit an application then take an entrance exam to schools. Different entrance test for every school. No SATs. No Admissions Essay. No interviews (mostly). No extra-curricular and volunteer requirements. Just transcripts and test.

It depends on the country. Some countries (I know Ukraine for sure, and probobly otehr countreis around there are similar) only rely on entry exams for the college. Other countries (British ones) rely on results from tests taken in the equavelent of 10th and 12th grade called the A level test and something else (i cant remember). Other countries are similar to America and rely on grades from high school and test scores.

My friend is from middle east, and she says that to get into college in her country, there is an entry exam at a specific date for all the universities. The exam covers all the subjects that they learned in high school and it takes them hours to finish it. And it is not easy. Based on their ranking, they get to chose majors and then colleges pick students based on the exam. Of course best colleges take students that ranked between 1 and I dont know 500?
