Need Help with Girdle vs Garter belt?

I am attending a formal function and I'm weraing stockings and and evening dress and I need to know what would look better, a garter belt or open bottom girdle. I do perfer the tight feeling or a girdle but want to make sure if shows well in my dress. Please HELP !!!! Barbara

I wear a garter belt everyday, but with some dresses and skirts, and sometimes at that time of the month I prefer a girdle too. I like the shortest one I can find, with very short garter tabs. I like to wear my stocking really long, and they hide better when they are short tabs. Remember in the original Beaver Cleaver episodes she was wearing stockings and a girdle and nothing showed.

Check out www.stockingstore.com, and look under the corsets, and girdles link, they have several. I own a couple myself. You may also try the waist cinches. They are great too, but not so good for sitting a lot.

Best way to see which looks better, is try them both. First the garter belt, then the girdle (or the other way around). But if you are most comfortable in a girdle, that is the way to go. Most of the time, they never show anyway.
