No problems, but as was stated before, backing up is a GOOD idea whenever your attempting a major change in your hardware. You will have to reactivate WinXP when the computer is restarted though.

changing the processor should not effect the harddrive but it is always a good idea to backup important personal files before doing any "surgery" on a computer. just a good idea. you don't need to back up anything that you have an install disk for, just the data/preferences you have added.

Although hdd has no anything to do with CPU backup is really important because different occasions can happen. So to be 100% sure I'd recommend you to backup your system fortunately there are some free offers from leading software development groups.

No, itsn't. The operative system will update all hardware changes and only system files will be changed. Don't worry. But, it's not bad idea that you make up data backup copies, isn't?? Greetings.

No, the hard drive has nothing to do with the CPU. The hard drive will continue to store those files for you....you cant loose files on the hard drive unless you delete them, or physically cause harm to the hard drive.
