no, not even close. the yankees have done it consistently since the 1920s, that's about 90 years. 26 world titles, far more than any other team. the patriots started winning around 2000, that's about 6 years. they've won 3 titles, fewer than many other teams. where's the tradition of winning there? the patriots have probably finished in last place in the AFC east more than any other team, they used to be the joke of the division. that doesn't sound similar to the yankees to me.

In what way?
Winning championships? The Steelers, 49ers and Cowboys have won more Superbowls than the Patriots. Yankees have won 26 World Series over the last 100 years, far and away ahead of any other MLB team.
Money? Can't compare the NFL to MLB because the MLB doesn't have a salary cap. MLB teams are free to spend as much money as they want on players, in short they can buy a championship by hiring the best players. Fortunately for MLB the best players don't always win, however the Yankees are always a force to be reckoned with.
In the NFL teams successes are usually short lived based on the personnel that the team has at a given instant in time. The late 70 Steelers had a magic team with Bradshaw, Lynn, Stalworth, the Steel Curtain defense. But it took Pittsburgh almost 30 years to get the 5th SB victory. If there was ever a team that was a true NFL dynasty I think it would have to the 49ers. The Montana led teams dominated their era and the team hardly missed a beat when Steve Young took over. But, the 49ers have wallowed at the bottom of the NFC since.
Pete Roselle did a great thing by setting up a system by which the NFL teams are basically at parity with each other. On any given Sunday any team is capable of beating any other team. A team really needs to catch a genie in a bottle to put together a string of Superbowl victories like the Patriots did. It would appear that the Patriot run could be at an end though. The defense is getting old, as witnessed by the Colts comeback in the AFC championship game. The Colts did a great job of adjusting in the second half and focusing Dallas Clark on the Pat's weakness, linebackers who could no longer provide pass coverage.

Thats a good question, remember the Yankees are the most dominant franchise in the HISTORY OF SPORTS, they have won it all 27 times!!! I know the Patriots are a great franchise as well and i know they have won 3 superbowls out of the last 5 years but i dont thing they should be compared to the Yankees just yet!

FAR too early to tell. I mean if you look at it, the Yankees have the highest paid players in their sport. The Pats are nowhere near that, infact the highest paid team in the NFL would be the Redskins. So, right now... I'd say no. But it's far too early to tell.

quite ironic though because the yankees hate the red sox and visa versa, and the jets/giants/ basically every other football team hates the pats
