So why do the victims of cheaters(even tho they know about it)pretend thats its not happening and carry on as normal?

Stuck in a rut!
Some stay because of children (wait til they are older to deal with the divorce), money commitments, scared of being alone... many pathetic reason, (or should I say excuses) like that.
Maybe the wife/husband offers them security and the 'other person' gives them the sex life they want with no-strings attached?!

There are very sad unstable people with bad mothers who are needy and need to feel in control. The unfortunate thing is it ruins other people life. I think once a man has done that, it's over, doesnt matter weather your married or not, they have to live with the consquences, if there caught.

why do they cheat and stay married?-cheat for lots of reason usually the other person fulfills SOMETHING (not just sex) that the cheater doesn't think he/she is getting at home-whether that's actually true is another story...they stay together because they like their family, maybe even love their spouse(people who cheat with marrieds forget that)...Some people actually have OPEN marriages which means you can bang who you want but I have your heart, family and bank account...generally it isn't wise to fool around with married people...

Humans are risk taking animals by nature. We need to take risks and I guess excitement is part of it, the same a dangerous sports, smoking, flying etc. We are not monogamous animals either, so western culture is going against nature. I am not condoning cheating, just bear in mind the natural facts.

I feel people cheat cause they are lacking something in the relationship or are bored with the situation.The reason they stay married after cheating is because they still are in love with that person and are confused with life.

To be honest I dont think anyone knows why people who are married cheat.Maybe for the same reason as those who are not married do.The being married makes no difference at all.

May be they are scared of the unknown
There is a old saying which rings true
ITS BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
THAN THE ONE YOU DONT

The excitement that there was at the start is no longer there
Having children, maybe the female dosent get aroused as much as she did at the start and also dosent feel sexy anymore
Maybe the man treat his wife as if she where his mum and she dosent like that........he dosent buy her presents or express how much he still loves her

Because they have their comfortable lives with their wife/husband which they do not want to lose, but then they want the fantasy of being single and able to do what they want, at the same time.

because they like the comfort of an old familiar pair of shoes to go on a 10 mile hike and also like a pair of fancy shoes that arn't practical yet they really want.
