I met a guy in the military online 3 or 4 months ago. He is deployed overseas. We started chatting everyday either viia email or IMs. Things started out friendly, but quickly started getting romantic in nature. I had asked him the first time we chatted if he was married and he said no. I ended up doing a little research online a few weeks ago and found out he is married. After a few days of knowing this info, I asked him aboout it. He called and apologized and said he never expected to really chat after the first time, so that is why he lied and then things just moved so quickly he didn't know what to do or how to tell me. I know the right thing to do is just cut off communication. I am not looking to ruin someone's marriage. But I have friends who are military and they told me to wait until he returns, that he doesn't need that kind of stress right now. What should I do? I have started to become less available with my time to chat with him.

end it now. sorry, but he was in the wrong and that wasn't fair to you. Before he can hurt you anymore, let him go. If he has cheated on his wife, you could be next...don't put yourself there.

A man in the military overseas in a war or in some foreign country get's lonely. Pawning for the stateside duty. They like a lot of men have access to the internet chat rooms. A lot of single women get online to find a mate and become easy targets for married guys to live out their fantasies. Maybe their wives aren't writing to them regularly, or maybe they're playing the field. It's so easy to say I love you on the internet, but all the unseen and unheard things haven't been addressed. Do you really know that person? Internet love is a very risky way to meet a mate. Don't obligate yourself to anyone unless you meet them in person and get to know each other. Until a man resolves his marriage situation he should be left alone to work it out. Just do your home work well on a guy you're about to commit your whole life to. Good luck Larry

Leave him alone to use his time online to talk to his wife. If you want to occasionally write him a short friendly note to check on him, that's one thing, but the everyday, romantic stuff should stop immediately.
