Hi, flying in to PHX - is it worth pre-booking a taxi or shall i just get a bac from the queue outside the terminal?

I fly from Phoenix to LA every week (Monday to Thursday) and Thursday nights at PHX (Terminal 4) usually have a bit more of a wait b/c that's when a lot of commuters come home. If you are planning on paying with a credit card, expect a longer wait because you often have to beg the cabbies to take a CC - they get charged up to 10% by their companies for a usage fee.

No need to book a taxi in advance; as there are normally 10-15 cabs lined up outside the baggage claim area daily. Cabs going East (Tempe-Mesa etc.) are on the North side of the terminal and those going West (Phoenix-Glendale etc.) are on the South side of Termainal 4. Termainal 2 and 3 cabs are right outside the main terminal areas. Wait is usually quite minimal.
