i'd not get over excited with optimism over any proposed Peace treaty over there. Jimmy Carter is a good guy. he's 100% maximum acceptable for starting talks with the "enemy." Condoleeza Rice is a serious device for shunning the talks.

I don't know how Kissinger's win fits in with all this foolish blathering here.
Get a clue about what's happening in the semitic region - jews and palestinians are both semites - and you will would be demanding to know why America still supports Isreal. They have truly become like Nazis there.
Here's a little movie my son made at 13 years old, to try to balance the info. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vPMHJsgSTI

It's because the Nobel Peace Prize has become political in nature, as well as a joke. Jimmy Carter is in the same club as Yasser Arafat, and Gorbachev. Notice someone like Pope John Paul II wasn't even really considered.

Yeah, lets follow the herd and hate Jimmy Carter. Why not think for yourself and actually read the book that has vilified this honorable man. You will find if you really look into the facts, he is indisputably correct. He was well deserving of the prize. There is nothing about this man that should cause you to call him a loser, but I'd bet you sure could be classified as one. That or a blind follower of anti-Semite propaganda. Keep doing as you are told and thinking what you are told to think. People like you are what is wrong with this country and the reason there are still people supporting this administration and their lies.

Carter richly deserved the nobel prize for his activities even after the period of presidency. When armed struggle has been chosen as the path for getting solutions these days without considering the aftereffects, his persuvasive efforts and mediation requires to be acclaimed.
The Nobel Peace Prize 2002-------"for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development".
During his presidency (1977-1981), Carter's mediation was a vital contribution to the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt, in itself a great enough achievement to qualify for the Nobel Peace Prize. At a time when the cold war between East and West was still predominant, he placed renewed emphasis on the place of human rights in international politics.
Through his Carter Center, Carter has since his presidency undertaken very extensive and persevering conflict resolution on several continents. He has shown outstanding commitment to human rights, and has served as an observer at countless elections all over the world. He has worked hard on many fronts to fight tropical diseases and to bring about growth and progress in developing countries. Carter has thus been active in several of the problem areas that have figured prominently in the over one hundred years of Peace Prize history.
In a situation currently marked by threats of the use of power, Carter had stood by the principles that conflicts must as far as possible be resolved through mediation and international co-operation based on international law, respect for human rights, and economic development.

Jimmy Carter was a less than impressive president but he has been one of the greatest ex-presidents we have had. The man works hard for no personal benefit. He just helps others. We could learn a lot from being like him.
