They start at 0/00 and they can go to 99. Not a whole lot of players have worn number 0, Al Oliver is probably the best-known. Rick White currently wears number 00, and there have been a few guys here and there that have had it.

Mitch Williams, Turk Wendell, and So Taguchi have worn number 99.

They start from (00) Double Zero and then go 1, 2, 3 all the way to 99. The only numbers they don't use are those that have been retired in honor of legendary players on that team. Like the Yankees have about 15 numbers that no one will use for a long time.

There have been a few players that used 0 or 00 (I know Rick White used 00 with the Pirates), and a few using 99 (such as So Taguchi of the Cardinals). While newer players and rookies tend to get higher numbers, there are no rules about what number a player can use (unlike football, where your number is dependent on your position).

they start with number 0, if I remember there was a player on the rangers many years ago who had that number. The numbers go to 99.
